Just for kicks Alvin and I started looking into buying a small house. This is perhaps the most "grown up" thing I've done (lol). We met with a realtor this afternoon to check out a few places in Salt Lake. Sure they look nice on KSL but it's a different story when your on 900 W and 300 S. The first place was a complete joke. I think the exact words from the realtor were, "slappin' lipstick on an ugly pig". Someone should have invested in a level is all I can say. So after a few eye opening laughs we called it a day. When your realtor carries a tazer it probably should tip you off it's not a good location. There are still a few options further north that we're going to check out tomorrow. Maybe it's not to be and maybe we'll keep sending in our rent check but it's fun to think about - especially while it's such a great time to buy. Que sera sera - but not in anywhere west of I-15 in Salt Lake!

Way Above Par!
This has been months in the works and it finally came! The Horizon Financial 15th Annual Golf Tournament. It's been so fun to put this together this year. We were at Eaglewood Golf Course this morning at 6:00 am getting set up. What a beautiful morning! After registration and and the shotgun start it was smooth sailing from there. We couldn't have asked for better weather. I think it only hit a high of 85 degrees. All my worries melted away! FOUR!
The participants getting ready to head out to their beginning hole.
The beautiful green grass and blue sky this morning at Eaglewood!

Loves for Lissas
Happy Birthday to the sister who...
- fed me old popsicles while I was asleep
- showed me how to put on a right side out t shirt in one move
- loves flowers, kittens, music, books, and traveling and taught me to do the same
- didn't kill me in the Celica, Bronco, or Stealth
- has the sweetest lil' 'brills in the whole world
- cried at my wedding reception
- deserves to have fabulous day today!
All my love and then some...

The Healthiest Part of a Donut is the Center Right?
How you say, do over?! Needless to say this week's dieting didn't go so well. How do I get the justification thinking out of my head. For example: It's Monday morning and I'm back to work at 7:00 am. "I deserve a Dr. Pepper. It's going to be a long week and after all I am the one working a 40 hour work week!" So with this thinking I run over to the neighboring 7 11 and purchase my "hard fought" DP. Isn't this ridiculous?! I did go on a 30 + mile bike ride but it probably didn't do much for getting rid of probably just kept things where they were. Any ideas on how to change my "justification's"? Wouldn't it be nice if there was a real life "back button"?

Back in the Saddle
Diet blogging is annoying I know. But I think this could be a good source of motivation for me. So if this is a pet peeve of yours turn away now. I don't think I'm alone as a woman when I have this picture of the "ideal Nat" in my head. For me this is a picture from my honeymoon. What I wouldn't give to look like that again. I wasn't painstakingly skinny either, just healthy and confident. Being the wife of a future physical therapist I've decided to let him practice what he's preaching and be my own personal trainer. Automatically bells and whistles are going off right? We've set down a few "say uncle" rules to avoid some major marital conflicts. But it's also important to note that I asked him to do this so maybe I'm a gluten for punishment. So here it goes... I've got a month to slim down before my trip to North Carolina and a lifetime to stay healthy. This week I'm going to focus on replacing my need of Dr. Pepper with Cherry Coke ZERO. It's not the same but it will fill a void. Also we're going to plan a few more bike rides even if it's just hitting Legacy parkway for a half hour or so. Alvin's also found me some chest firming exercises - hahaha - I guess the drooping has begun.
So here is the embarrassing part: To keep myself accountable I'm going to have to report back to my "Blog". (This will be you, the sparse few who are checking my silly blog.) Today I weighed in at 145. (Yipes! Probably the biggest I've ever been.) But I'm determined to kick my own butt this week. It's so much easier for me to stay focused when I plan out meals. So that's another goal I'm working on this morning. Here's a yummy recipe that helps fill a sweet tooth but is only 4 Weight Watchers points per serving.
Banana-Oatmeal Bread
Ingredients:
1 1/4 C Flour
1/2 C unpacked brown sugar
1/2 tsp table salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
3 tsp canola oil
1 large egg beaten
2 medium egg whites beaten
3 large bananas ripe
1 C uncooked old fashion oats
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, stir together dry ingredients. Add oil and eggs; mix thoroughly.
In a smaller bowl, mash bananas with a potato masher or fork. Add bananas and oatmeal to batter.
Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray. Pour batter into pan and bake until top of loaf is firm to touch, 45 to 55 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool in pan for 5 minutes. Flip out and cool on a wire rack for another 10 minutes. Number of servings 10, 4 points each.

AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com
It's 1:30 am and I'm wide awake. Naturally I'm surfing the web. I came a cross a funny website called awkwardfamilyphotos.com. Maybe it's because of the late hour but I couldn't get enough. I'm trying to keep my giggles down as to not wake Alvin. You've got to go check this out. Here's a sample titled "Doubledelish"
I couldn't resist posting an old family photo of my own. (I'm so glad I wasn't a teen in the 80's!)
What you don't know is that each of our outfits were meticulously planned to match the furniture in our formal living room. The turquoise tie Bill has on and the pink satin matched the couches. The maroon number I wore complemented the leather wing back. And Jenny and Rosie were just all together too "mature" to be part of the "swatches" but I'd trade being a "swatch" any day over that hair!
