Cute little button!

This picture is a little fuzzy but too darn cute. She's the first born to Alvin's brother and sister-in-law, Russ & Chrystal. They named her Celeste. We haven't even met her yet. We will finally get the chance in December when we're up for Christmas. I can't believe she'll be be 7 months old when we are formally introduced. We're excited though.

Got Religion?

This weekend is going to be fun filled with religious goings ons. Friday night my family is headed to a farewell party for my Uncle and Aunt Fairbanks. They have been called to serve a mission in India. Holy cow, right? (Did you catch the pun there - you did didn't ya? lol) They will be over much of the humanitarian aid over there. What a culture shock from Anchorage, Alaska to India! My heart and prayers go out to them on this new endeavor! Saturday I am headed down to the conference center to attend the General Relief Society Meeting with my mom, sisters, aunt, and cousins. The estrogen that is going to fill that conference center will be so thick you could cut it with a knife. The program fans will be going, the water works will be running, and the rolaids will be passed around like candy! I can't wait!

Thanks Zig Ziglar!

This semester I am taking 11 credits. I tried to push it to 14 with a Human Anatomy class but it got a little overwhelming with working full time and trying to help Alvin apply to grad school. One of my online classes that fulfills a interdisciplinary credit is called Values & Self Image. I signed up for it because of the obvious, it'd be an easy A right? So far it's cake. One of the requirements for the class is to read What to Say When You Talk to Yourself by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. I've never read any 'self help' books before so I was leery getting into it. With the help of Zoloft I feel pretty level headed (at least I think so...lol) and if it hadn't been for this required reading I doubt I'd ever pick this up. Melissa and Rosie have been trying their darnedest to get me to start reading the Twilight series. They claim it cures what ales you. Confession: I broke down and bought it but have only got to page 15. But even worse that that, I've been totally enthralled with Dr. Helmstetter's book. Isn't that just pathetic?! Where Melissa and Rosie can only think of the building sexual tention between Edward and Bella, I am all concerned that I've been programmed incorrectly and my transformation has to begin right now! Right now I'm on chapter 9 - The Five Levels of Self Talk. I feel a lot like Stuart Smally from SNL, "You're Good Enough, You're Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like You!" So Lissa and Rosie, don't be mad - I'll get to Twilight after I learn how to harness the power of the ultimate motivator - me! LOL!!!

Ahead of the times

So I helped Mom and Dad set up their new blog. Dad has been wanting an easier way to show off pictures from their many getaways. It's still a work in progress but check it out and see how cool they are: billydandstancij.blogspot.com

Eww, it's Science

Body Worlds 3 is coming to Salt Lake! Alvin and I have wanted to see this for a while now. It's an exhibit that takes real human bodies and strips them of layers to show a whole new perspective. Although the exhibit may be controversal, Alvin and I are stoked to go to this on Friday night. Come with us - it'll be dinner and a body...lol. Check it out! http://theleonardo.org/bodyworlds/index.php

Danke Schoen, Darling, Danke Schoen

In German "Danke Schoen" translates in English to something like,"Thank you very much!"

Yesterday was my 23rd birthday. My mom was quick to point out she had two kids by the time she was 23. (Give me another 3-4 years and we'll talk then... lol)

Back to my point, I wanted to say thank you for such a great weekend and all the kind gifts I received.

My work got a yummy Baskin Robins ice cream cake for me on Thursday. Then since we've switched to a four day work week I got to have Friday off. Alvin lined me up with a massage for Friday morning. It was heavenly. Though I have to admit all I could think of was that scene from Nacho Libre when Ramses was getting rubbed down before the final fight and sitting in front of him was his coach saying, "Ramses arms are number one. Ramses eyes are number one. (and so on)." Nattie's legs are number one, Nattie's hands are number one... lol.

Friday Alvin and I got up and caught breakfast at Sills. I can't imagine anything on their menu being weight watchers approved but nothing says Happy Birthday to me like their scones!

It was just a nice relaxing few days. We shopped, went to a movie, went out to dinner...

My brother invited us down to the restaurant he works at called Martine. It was fun to get a little gussied up and have a fancy night out with a four course meal. If you get the chance check out Martine - their grilled gingerbread with homemade gellato is sooo good. (Again, probably not within the weight watchers points range lol.)

Again I just wanted to say thanks. Birthdays are silly things but, I'm grateful for family and friends that took time to let me know I'm loved.

All StuffedUp!

I don't understand why scientists can create seedless watermelons and grapples but haven't come up with a cure for the common cold. I feel like the two gentleman above today although Rosie and Melissa have given me a complex to make me feel this way daily. So I'm throwing this out, "What works for you?" I'm at my whits end and need to breathe! Help!

Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!

So I have a school assignment that I need help with. I need at least five people to ask themselves the following question and give me your response. If you could be a renowned person, what would you be renowned for and why?
